166 villages in 24 Giridih panchayats declared ODF

The district administration of Giridih today declared 166 villages in 24 panchayats as Open Defecation Free (ODF).
So far 58 panchayats of the total 358 panchayats in the district have been declared as ODF.
Deputy Commissioner Umashankar Singh and Gande MLA Prof Jaiprakash Verma released balloons to mark the occasion at Banhati village in Bengabad panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said there should be commitment of cleanliness among the villagers and school children and urged them to be part of the campaign for a healthy society.
He also inspected six toilets and honoured six persons for constructing quality toilets.
