17-year-old girl medical aspirant from Bihar commits suicide

A 17-year-old girl medical aspirant from Bihar's Samastipur district, who had taken admission in a coaching institute here, today allegedly committed suicide.
Police said that she had taken the extreme step by hanging herself from ceiling fan in her rented accommodation in in Talwandi area under Jawaharnagar police station of the city as "she was unable to qualify exams to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of her parents".
Police also recovered a suicide note from her.
"In her suicide note, she wrote that she was unable to qualify exams to fulfil the dreams of her parents and that 'she was under heavy stress of studies'," Jawaharnagar police station Sub Inspector (SI) Om Prakesh Sharma said.
She had taken admission on June 10 at a coaching institute in the city to prepare for NEET-UG for admission to medical college, the SI said, adding her parents had left for their home town after arranging for her admission and accommodation on June 11 left and she was staying alone in her room.
The girl took the extreme step at noon after returning to her room from the coaching institute, he said, adding that her parents have been informed.
A case has been registered and her was kept in the mortuary of the government hospital for the post mortem which will be conducted after her family members arrive here, Sharma said, adding further investigation was on.
