The blast took place yesterday in a building in Himshikha colony of Pinjore injuring at least 18 people and damaging five adjoining houses, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vivek Atray said.
The cause of the blast is being probed after which assessment of loss to houses would be conducted by the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, he said.
Six of the injured have suffered serious burns, the DC said while inquiring about the condition of them undergoing treatment at General Hospital in Panchkula and PGIMER in Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced assistance of Rs 1 lakh each for treatment of those seriously injured and Rs 50,000 each to the other injured people.
