Two persons have been arrested for allegedly firing at a group of doctors from GTB Hospital who had got into a tiff with a cafe owner over playing music in Anand Vihar area, police said today.
When Dr Shashank Tayal, who works at GTB Hospital, had gone out with his colleagues to celebrate a colleague's birthday at Kafe Nomics, they had an altercation with the owner and manager of restaurant on January 27, said DCP (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad.
He alleged that the restaurant staff threatened and forced them to get out of the restaurant.
Meanwhile, two boys came in a car and one of them opened fire at the group of doctors but no one was injured.
During investigation, the ownership of the car was established and it was found to be owned by one Dinesh Mehndiratta alias Vicky.
It was found that Dinesh along with his associate Yogesh Sharma alias Yogi were involved in the firing case.
"They told police that they are known to the restaurant owner. After they got to know of the quarrel, they opened fire on the team of doctors. A .32 bore pistol with two live cartridges and a car have been recovered from Dinesh," Prasad said.
Dinesh and Yogesh work as property dealers and both have previous criminal involvement.
