2 arrested for printing and selling fake NCERT books

Police claim to have busted a racket involving illegal printing and selling of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books and arrested two persons in this connection.
A team of Crime Branch raided Daryanganj and Islamabad South areas of the district yesterday and recovered about one lakh fake NCERT books.
The two accused, Imran and Rahul, both residents of Meerut were taken into custody and booked for violation of the Copyright Act, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Uday Shankar said.
"Those arrested revealed that they used to sell Hindi and English NCERT books of VI to XIIth standard to Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states," Shankar said.
Further investigations are on in the case, he said.
