Two persons were today arrested in connection with a firing incident in Bikaner jail, which had claimed lives of three inmates, police said.
Hanuman Jhakhar, the main accused in the case, was arrested by the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police.
He was arrested for allegedly supplying the revolver into the jail for the murder of inmate Balbir Banuda on July 24, said Additional SP (SOG) Alok Tripathi.
Tripathi said in the investigation, it has been found that Hanuman Jhakhar and an accomplice gave a country-made revolver to jail inmate Jaiprakash, who had shot dead Balbir, while meeting him in the jail on July 24.
He said Hanuman and his accomplice were identified through the CCTV footage of the jail.
After Hanuman's interrogation, another accused Devi Singh was also arrested from here today, he said.
On July 24, three prisoners were killed and four others injured when a gang war broke out in Bikaner jail here.
Balbir Banuda was shot dead by Jaiprakash who opened fire at him with a country-made revolver in a jail barrack.
However, during the firing by Jaiprakash, another hardcore criminal Anandpal Singh got injured. In turn, Anandpal and other inmates thrashed and hit Jaiprakash and three others with stones leaving him and Rampal dead on the spot.
