Police laid a surprise check post at Vigilance Rotary Chowk of the city and apprehended a car that was on its way to Rajouri.
During the checking, police recovered 13 grams of heroin from the possession of the two persons travelling in the car, he said.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Ishtyak and Mohammed Shafiq Charak, both residents of Rajouri district, he said.
The duo was taking the consignment to their native village to be sold to the youth there, the officer said.
An investigation is underway in the matter, the officer added.
