"We have seized two bikes which were being put to commercial use as taxis through Uber mobile app but without due clearance and licence. They were also offering driver with their bikes to customers registering for the same," Assistant RTO Dilip Yadav told PTI.
According to Yadav, the RTO has sent notice to both Uber and the owners of the bikes.
For a motorcycle to be used as taxi, one has to adhere to the provisions of the Centre's Rent-A-Motorcycle Scheme of 1997, which prohibits using a bike of personal use for commercial purpose without a licence.
