Two persons have been booked for allegedly duping a man of Rs 2 lakhs by selling fake dollar notes to him, police said today.
As per a complaint filed by Delhi-based Wasin with the police, one Khaliq had phoned him saying the two accused were in possession of US dollars worth Rs 4-5 lakh which they can sell for Rs 2 lakh.
He then paid Rs 2 lakh and took the dollar notes. Later, only a few notes were found to be authentic. An FIR has been lodged against the two persons.
In a separate case, a couple was robbed off their jewellery by a car driver here.
Prem Singh Rawat and his wife, resident of sector-3 here, were travelling to Maharajpur in a car when the driver asked them to keep their jewellery in a bag so as to avoid any hassle during security check.
Upon examining the bag, they found their jewellery had been replaced with fake jewellery.
An FIR has been registered in the case and investigation has begun, police said.
