2 die of asphyxia while working inside septic tank

Two persons allegedly died of asphyxia while working inside a septic tank in the IRC village area here, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Bibhuti Naik and Gopabandhu Naik, both residents of Cuttack district.
The police said the tragic incident took place this afternoon while the duo was engaged in cleaning and repairing of a septic tank.
The police said Bibhuti had first entered the tank. As he did not come out, Gopabandhu entered to rescue him. He too did not come out.
Suspecting danger, local people searched and later on pulled out their bodies. They were rushed to the Capital Hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
