A 14-year-old boy and a youth drowned in a pond in Barmer district on Monday, police said.
Three boys slipped after they went to drink water from the pond at Satuni Charnan village under Mandli police station limits, Station House Officer (SHO) Bhanwar Singh said.
On seeing them drowning, a passerby, Shrawan Prajapat, jumped in to save the boys. The 24-year-old could save two of them, but drowned along with the third boy while trying to rescue him, Singh said.
The bodies of Prajapat and the teenager, Hussain Khan, were handed over to families after post-mortem, the officer added.
