The complainant Sashmita Samal had sought for school leaving certificate.
However, the trio had demanded bribe for the issuance of the certificate, a vigilance official said.
Harassed over extortion tactics, the complainant informed the vigilance sleuths. Accordingly a trap was laid. Ramesh Chandra Parija, senior clerk, Suryamani Panda grade four staff and Sarat Beura, retired senior clerk were caught red-handed while receiving demanded amount, the official said.
When the complainant Samal gave the chemical-coated currencies to the trio at the pre-determined spot, the sleuths caught them.
They would be remanded to judicial custody tomorrow, he added.
