2 farm labourers drown in drain

Two farm labourers today drowned while taking bath in a drain of a village near the town, police said today.
The incident took place in Villa Kothi village.
The deceased have been identified as Roshan Lal (40) and Surjit Singh (42), both residents of Lakhankala village, near the town.
The deceased had gone to fields to check the water level after rains. They then decided to take bath in a drain filled with rain water. But they drowned while taking bath, police said.
Farm labourers working near the fields raised the alarm and divers were requisitioned to fish out their bodies, police said.
