Two persons have been arrested for allegedly trying to purchase train tickets using Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), RPF said today.
The incident happened at the booking counter at Central railway station here two days back and FICN with a total face value of Rs 7,000 was recovered from them, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials said.
They said the ticket issuing clerk grew suspicious about the notes provided by the duo and immediately alerted the RPF there, who questioned them.
The enquiry revealed that the city based duo possessed three fake notes in Rs 2,000 denomination and two in Rs 500, they added.
They were later handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP), who filed a case and are probing the matter.
