Senior Superintendent of Police Bablu Kumar said that Deepak and Pravin Gautam, both members of the Bhim Army, were arrested by a joint team of the Crime Branch and district police from Malhipur Road here.
Kumar claimed that Gautam told police that he was the city president of the Bhim Army. "Deepak said he was the constituency chief of the outfit," the officer said.
"They are being interrogated and the police is searching for their accomplices," the SSP said.
"Based on eveidences gathered by the SIT, police are mulling to book under the National Security Act those found guilty," the SSP said.
On May 9, a police chowki was burnt, over 20 vehicles torched while several instances of stone-pelting and clashes were reported from across Saharanpur.
