In first case, a man was intercepted by custom officials after his arrival from Bangkok here yesterday.
"On detailed examination of his baggage, though nothing objectionable was found but on his personal search, four pieces of gold bars weighing total of 1,000 grams valued at Rs 27.27 lakh was recovered which was concealed in rectum," a customs department official said.
The passenger was arrested and gold was seized.
In another incident, a passenger was intercepted by customs officials after he arrived at airport to catch a flight to Dubai.
The man was arrested and currency seized, the official said.
