According to the police, a security guard and a driver were injured when two men on a motorcycle threw a hand grenade at the entrance of the Business Recorder House.
The BR houses the Business Recorder newspaper and Aaj TV channel.
"They escaped on their bike but thankfully the blast didn't cause much damage," police official Aamir Shaukat said.
TV footage showed two men stopping in front of the gate and one of them calmly getting down and throwing the grenade.
Militants have carried out attacks against the Express media group in the past.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Shahidullah Shahid had warned television channels to change their ways or they would also be targeted.
The Taliban had claimed responsibility for a recent attack on a Express van in which three staffers were killed.
