Two kg of gold worth Rs 60 lakh was seized today from a passenger who arrived at nearby Karipur international airport from Riyadh, customs officials said.
The gold was found concealed in his baggage, they said, adding that he was taken into custody.
Yesterday, six kg of gold, allegedly smuggled from Dubai and valued at approximately Rs 1.84 crore, was seized from two passengers, including an off duty Air India hostess.
Official sources said that with this seizure, a total of 33 kg of smuggled gold has been seized from Karipur airport alone in the last one-and-a-half month.
