Two people were killed when a diesel tanker fell into a 160-feet deep gorge in Markundi valley, police said Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Dixit said the incident took place Friday night.
"The diesel tanker fell into a 160-feet deep gorge in Markundi valley after the driver lost control. The vehicle caught fire and two people, including the driver, who were in the tanker, were burnt to death," he said.
He added the deceased were identified as Chhedi (45), the driver, and Shivakant Chaturvedi (40).
The bodies were sent for post-mortem, police said.
