A group of people were returning to Gajol from Sujapur after attending a wedding when the accident occurred as a result of a race between the SUV nd the truck.
After hitting the truck, the SUV went out of control, hit a divider and overturned, the police said.
When the passengers were taken to hospital, a baby girl and a woman were declared brought dead and five were admitted at Malda Medical College Hospital.
