The accused, Rovin alias Mohan and Kartik alias Lokesh Kalyan, were arrested in Rohini yesterday by a team of Delhi Polices Special Cell, said P S Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell). Two .315 bore pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from their possession, he added.
In the last few months, incidents of firing between rival gang members and at witnesses have been reported from near Rohini Court and its premises. Following such incidents, a team was formed to identify and trace the accused, said Kushwah.
Yesterday, Sharma, who is lodged in jail, was to be produced in Rohini Court for a hearing in the Chintan murder case.
The Special Cell sleuths learnt that the gangster was planning to killed Chintans sister since she is a witness in the case. Since the proceedings could not take place yesterday, the two accused planned to kill her while she was on her way back home, the police said.
