2 mentally challenged girls die under suspicious circumstances

Two mentally challenged girls died under mysterious circumstances at a women protection home in Kotwali area here today, prompting administration to order a probe.
Sita (24) and Shalu (20) living in a women protection home in Dhamsi Rai Ka Purva area died, police said.
Both the girls were unwell and were undergoing treatment for the past one month, police said, adding that they had their breakfast in the morning today.
Caretaker of the protection home, Kanchan Verma, said that the girls were not taking proper meals because of their illness for past several days which could have led to their death.

Meanwhile, taking note of the matter, District Magistrate Anup Kumar Srivastava ordered a probe and said action will be taken against those found responsible.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination, police added.
