The incident took place yesterday when the Biharigarh police received a PCR call complaining that the two car-borne youths were misbehaving with a couple of persons, whose vehicle had broken down on a nearby highway, ASP Sanjay Singh said.
As per the complaint, the accused started passing comments on the people and when they locked themselves in the vehicle, the youths hit their car.
The accused fled when police reached the spot, Singh said.
Sub Inspector Puran Singh, who chased the accused, was hit by their car, he said.
Both the officials are being treated, ASP said, adding efforts are on to arrest the absconding accused.
