Additional District Judge-II Deepak Nath Tiwari handed down the life sentence to Raju Kalindi and Pappu Patro who they were convicted on Monday last under section 302 IPC for the murder of Pradip Sharma, a resident of Parsudih area here, in December 2011.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs.5,000 on each.
Four others, including a woman Premsheela Devl, were acquitted due to lack of evidence against them.
Additional Public Prosecutor S K Shukla said eight witnesses had turned up in the case.
He said the murder was committed by the duo over a love affair and the body was dumped near Latkugora nullah.
Sharma was done to death with a sharp weapon.
Based on the confession of the duo, police had recovered the blood-stained clothes of them and the weapon used in killing Sharma.
The Forensic Laboratory report also confirmed the blood-stain as that of the duo, Sharma added.
