Two sisters here were injured in an alleged knife attack by a former colleague of theirs in the Mujesar area here, police said.
An attempt to murder case has been registered over the attack last evening, which has resulted in serious injuries to the younger of the victims, aged 18.
According to the complaint filed by the sisters, both of whom work in the same factory and reside in Hriday Colony here, they were on their way home from work and had reached near the government school in Mujesar when they noticed one Tulsi, alias Golu, a former colleague, tailing them with a knife in his hand.
Before they could react, Tulsi attacked the younger sibling with the knife. She was stabbed twice on the right hip and also received an injury in her stomach.
The elder sister, aged 20, too, was injured as she tried to fight off the assailant, who fled thereafter.
The younger sister has been referred to Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi, said the investigating officer in the case, ASI Dharmvir. She received serious injuries, but is recovering, he added.
The elder sister, who suffered an injury to her hand, has been admitted to the government-run BK Hospital in Faridabad.
The officer said that Tulsi was fired from the factory at Plot No.6, Sector-24, Faridabad, where he used to work with the two sisters, following a complaint by the younger sister against him to the management for passing lewd comments at her.
However, as he still continued to follow the girls on their way to work and back, the siblings complained to his mother, who used to work in the same factory.
The attack on the sisters came in the wake of their complaint to Tulsi's mother, Dharmvir said.
A search is on for the accused, police said, adding that a case in the matter has been registered at Mujesar police station under Sections 323, 324 and 307 of IPC.
