2 youths commit suicide in separate incidents

Two youths committed suicide in separate incidents in the district, police said today.
A 16-year-old girl committed suicide yesterday by consuming poison at Badhai Kala village after her boyfriend refused to marry her, police said.
The parents of the girl have registered a case of abetment of suicide against 19-year-old Sonu, who is absconding, they said.
According to the complaint, the parents have alleged that the girl was raped by Sonu on the pretext of marriage but later when she was pregnant he refused to marry her.
Another youth committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling in Shekhpura village in the district last evening, police said.

Sonbir took the extreme step as he was depressed over some unidentified cause and the investigations into both the cases are on, they said.

Meanwhile, 47-year-old Vinod Kumar, a trader was shot dead at his office by three miscreants in Shamli district last evening.
A case has been registered against three people in this connection, said police.
One of the accused has been identified as Pawan Bansal, police said, adding that the possession of a shop is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.
Irate residents demonstrated and blocked the road over Kumar's killing after which the security of the area has been tightened, they said.
