20 citizen services to be available online in Himachal

As many as 20 citizen centric services including land records along with "Tatima"(map) would now be available online in Himachal Pradesh through integrated database without any paper document.
The state Information Technology (IT) department had already prepared the integrated data base for 53 citizen centric services and 20 services were launched by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here.
33 more services would be available soon throught the same application.
The Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh has been a harbinger to bring about qualitative change in the life of its people by empowering them through ICT initiatives in a pervasive manner at their door step.
The State has made significant strides in most cost-effective and citizen friendly manner and as a consequence, the State has won several awards and recognitions including 10 National e-Governance awards over the years, he added.
More than 2000 Lokmitra Kendras set up at the Gram Panchayat level would enable the citizens to avail 53 different type of Government services under a single roof.
These Lokmitra Kendras(LMKs) provide Government to Citizen Services, which include various kinds of certificates and documents andintegration of Electronic Database of various departments at the level of application form.
In most cases, citizen will not need to go to different offices to get various certificates before availing online service and with internet penetration still limited in rural areas, LMKs also provide a forum for reaching out electronically to the government functionaries.
Earlier only "jambandi" (Revenue document of land) was available online but now the "Tatima"(map of the land) would also be available by the end of the year and online with three districts to start with.
Now, 14 types of certificates will also be provided online from today onwards and Revenue Court Monitoring System will help both the Revenue Officers as well as citizens while five services related to commercial establishments and workers therein were also launched.
Additional Chief secretary(IT) Sanjeev Gupta said 14 certificates including Rural Area, Legal Heirs, Backward Area, Minority Community, Agriculturist, Dogra Class, Character, Caste (SC/ST), Bonafide Himachali, Income, Other Backward Classes, Freedom Fighter, Domicile, Indigent (Needy Person) would now be available online.
