Nearly 20 kg ganjaworth Rs 3 lakh, meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka, was seized near Vedaranyamin the district and three people arrested in this connection, police said today.
When coastal security police were patrolling in Arucottuthurai last night, they found a bag with ganja weighing 20 kg inside, they said.
Three persons from the area were picked up on suspicion.
During inquiry, the trio revealed that it had kept the drug pack in the coastal area in all readiness to be smuggled to the island nation.
The accused were arrested today, police said adding investigations are on.
