They said the incident occurred last night around 12:30 pm and the visitors were trapped between the second and the third floor of the mall.
"As the incident took place at the midnight, there were very few security guards present there. When the lift stuck between the middle of the second and third floor, the message was conveyed to security guards of the mall who informed the police control room about the incident," Gurgaon police chief spokesperson, ACP Manish Sehgal said.
"It was almost trauma for nearly an hour. I had lost hope of coming out alive. Now, I have decided not to use lift until I make sure it is functioning well and the attended is in it," Ritu Arora, a mall visitor, and a resident of the DLF area, told PTI.
Police teams used ladder and hammer to break the glass windshield of the lift from open area.
"The rescue operation continued for at least half an hour. They were rescued using ladders," ACP Manish Sehgal said.
