Joint Secretary in the Home department Lalbiakzama told PTI that the Bru families arrived at the two facilitation centres in Zomuantlang and Kanhmun villages with transportation arranged by North Tripura district administration officials.
Lalbiakzama said that the repatriated Bru families arrived at the facilitation centres where officials and NGO leaders conducted identification on whether they were bona fide residents of Mizoram or not.
He said that the repatriation process would continue through the week even as there were reports that some people in the relief camps physically obstructed those willing to return to Mizoram.
Thirty families returned to Mizoram on the first day of the repatriation yesterday as six more families entered the state after dusk, while 24 families arrived till five PM.
