24 MoUs signed during Pravasi Haryana Diwas: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that 24 MoUs involving potential investment of Rs 20,000 crore have been signed during Pravasi Haryana Divas celebrations here and these would provide employment opportunities to 43,000 persons.
He said that 23 Pravasi Haryanvis have offered to invest Rs 17 crore in various philanthropic works.
During the Global Investors Summit held in March last, 360 MoUs were signed and about 100 of these have already matured as these units are being set up, the chief minister said.
These MoUs involved an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore.
While terming the first Pravasi Haryana Divas as a "big success", the Chief Minister said that it would not only generate investment, but would also further strengthen the bonds of Pravasi Haryanvis with the state of their origin.
He said that this was the first Haryana Pravasi Divas and in future this would be celebrated at an interval of two years.
He sought suggestions from the Pravasi Haryanvis so as to fix its dates.
He said that the Government might hold the Pravasi Haryana Divas and Global Investors Summit together next time.
He said that the Pravasi Haryana Divas has been attended by 400 NRIs from 33 countries and 300 those who hail from Haryana but came from different States in India.
