A 24-year-old woman was found dead near a forest in Palamau district on Friday, police said.
The body was recovered from a place near the Hutwar forest area under the jurisdiction Ramgarh police station, the police said.
Some residents of a village near the forest spotted the body early in the morning and informed the police, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Palamau district, Indrajit Mahata, said.
Injury marks were found on the head and face of the woman, the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the district, Surajeet Kumar, said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, the SP said, adding, efforts were on to establish her identity.
