The week-long 24th foundation day celebrations of Greater Noida concluded with a cultural fusion at the city park this evening.
At the conclusion of the foundation day celebrations, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority chairman Rama Raman briefed about the proposed projects, and said that development "has been put on fast-track and important projects will be sped up this year".
Residents and farmers join the celebrations. On farmers' demand, the city park and stadium have been named after their leaders.
Raman said farmers' problems would be taken up on priority, and appealed to them to help resolve all disputes through negotiations and not through agitations and protests that would put spanner in the ongoing development.
Stalled development affects farmers too, he said.
Some of the important projects included a heliport which will be built at a cost of Rs 100 crore. Helicopter service would be available from Greater Noida to Agra and Mathura.
A convention centre will be built at the Knowledge Park-2 at a cost of Rs 581 crore. It will have parking facility for 7,000 vehicles, he said.
The Rs 97-crore Ganga Water project was being implemented, he said.
The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor project was also on top priority.
At Bodaki, a new railway station will be developed.
Integrated Industrial Township on a 600 acre plot is also under consideration. Raman said the 29.707-km Metro Rail Project, to be built at a cost of Rs 5,064 crore, was the authority's priority.
