25-yr-old sentenced 10 yrs in jail in acid attack case

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by a local court in a 2012 acid attack case.
District Judge Rajbir Singh pronounced Pawan Kumar guilty of throwing acid on two women on December 12, 2012 under sections 326 and 307 the IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
Kumar threw acid on Usha Sharma and Bobby after they rejected his sexual overtures, Assistant Government Counsel Jitender Kumar said.
The victims had sustained severe burn injuries in the incident, he said.
