27000 students appear for HS exam in meghalaya

Over 27,000 students today appeared for the higher secondary school certificate exams in various streams held in as many as 91 centres across the state, officials said.
"A total of 27,278 students are eligible to appear the class XII exams in which 21,611 appeared for arts streams, 3188 for science, 2477 for commerce and two for vocational streams," MeghalayaBoard of School Education director F L Lyngkhoi told PTI.
He said, 14,408 are female candidates while the rest 12,870 are male and 40 students who are not happy with last years'performance appeared to improve their marks while 218 appeared asprivate candidates.
