The three men were nabbed in a forested area near a graveyard during a pre-dawn swoop, DSP Raja Taifoor Akhter told reporters.

The arrests were made when police conducted a raid on the basis of a tip-off.

The men found in the graveyard in Bodo village near Wah Cantonment were identified as Hijratullah, Najeebullah and Habibullah.

During preliminary questioning, they confessed to planning a terrorist attack in the garrison town.

Detonators, remote controls, suicide vests, nuts, bolts, shrapnel, grenades and bomb-making equipment were found in the possession of the men.

Police officials told reporters that the men were planning to target sensitive installations in Wah, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The arrested men will be presented in court to seek their remand.

TV news channels reported that two more men escaped from the graveyard at the time of the raid.
