Three persons were arrested Sunday in connection with the killing of a senior SBI employee in Assam, police said.
An Assam Police spokesperson said that the three persons were apprehended from a place in Kamprup district on Saturday for their involvement in the killing of the bank employee, identified as Junu Sarma.
They were arrested Sunday following their interrogation, the spokesperson said.
The police is continuing with the investigation to find out the involvement of more persons, if any.
Sarma, a senior official of State Bank of India's Dadara branch, was shot dead by the assailants at Agyathuri in Kamrup district on October 10 when she was returning home from office.
According to the police, when Sarma's car had slowed down, a gunman on a motorcycle broke the window pane of her vehicle and shot at her neck from point blank range.
Her driver rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
