A team of police officials conducted inspection in connection with the impersonation in the examinations being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education in the district, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at the examination centre yesterday.
During the raid and after verification, three proxy candidates -- Abdul Qayoom, Mohd Fareed and Shiraz Ahmad (all between 15-16 years of age) -- were apprehended and were found to be impersonating for Mohd Aftab, Rafi Pervez and Mohd Sabir respectively, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajiv Panday and police teams conducted checking in connection with copying and impersonation in the examinations.
"Role of deployed staff for examination is also being investigated. More arrests in the case are expected," he said.
