Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra today launched Centre's three major social security schemes in the state which were nationally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kolkata.
As part of the simultaneous launch in different cities of the country, Raje and Mishra launched the schemes pertaining to insurance and pension - Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY)- in the state.
"The country saw major financial inclusion with Jan Dhan Yojana, under which bank accounts were opened in large numbers in the country.
"Now the government is launching three major schemes which will benefit people," Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Kalraj Mishra said.
Addressing the function, Raje said, "The schemes will address social security issues and provide dignity to the poor."
She said that her government was trying to make Rajasthan one of the most developed states in the country.
The CM apprised that her government will organise 'Resurgent Rajasthan' event in November to attract investment, which would put the state on the path of development.
While PMSBY and PMJJBY will provide insurance cover in case of death or disability due to an accident, APY will address the old-age income security needs, it was told.
