Based on CCTV footage obtained from the ATM centre, police today arrested Praveen, Senthilkumar and Senthil of VIth Battalion of ARP and produced them before a court which remanded them to judicial custody.
Police said the three picked up a quarrel with Jaikumaresh when he was waiting to board a bus to Tuticorin at a bus stand here on June 28 and forced him to part with his ATM card and PIN number by threatening to take him to the police station.
Jayakumaresh came to know about the withdrawal on July 6 when he checked the balance and lodged a complaint with the police, who identified the trio with the help of CCTV footage at the ATM centre.
