3 detained for carrying gold without valid documents

Three persons were detained at NSC Bose International airport here after they were found to be carrying gold bars worth Rs 25 lakh without valid documents, customs officials said today.
"The trio came from Bangkok to Kolkata in a flight last night. They were held during customs check when they failed to produce valid documents for carrying 800 gram of gold bars," Asst Commissioner of customs R S Meena said.
They were carrying the gold bars worth Rs 25 lakh in handbags, he said.
