In the first case, a resident of Housing Board Colony, Sector-3, Ballabgarh, has filed a complaint against her husband and father-in-law for torturing her over dowry demands. The complaint was registered with Sector-7 police under Sections 498A, 406, 323 and 34 of IPC, said Dalbir Singh, the investigating officer.
In another case of domestic violence, a resident of Sector-10 has filed a complaint that her in-laws started beating her and subjecting her to torture over dowry demands.
In the third case of torture of a woman for not meeting dowry expectations, a complaint has been registered with Sector 55 police by a woman under Sections 498A, 406, 506 and 323 of IPC that she was thrashed by her in-laws as they forced her to bring more dowry.
