3 drug peddlers arrested

Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers from Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir and seized contraband from their possession.
"Police, in its drive against drugs, arrested three drug peddlers in different areas of Ganderbal and recovered 27.5 kgs of Cannabis hemp and 250 gram of cannabis powder from them," a police spokesman said.
He said acting on a tip off, police seized 27.5 kgs of cannabis hemp from the possession of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat at Gamwara in Ganderbal.
Another alleged peddler Nazir Ahmad Rather was arrested following seizure of 250 gms of cannabis powder from him at Wakoora crossing.
In another case, police seized one kg of cannabis hemp from the possession of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh at Shadipora bridge, he said.
Cases have been registered against the three accused persons, police said.
