No casualty or injury was reported in any incident, but goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze that consumed a garment factory in Sector 58, fire officials said.
"The fire was caused due to short circuit. It had started from the basement," Fire Station Officer Shantanu Yadav said.
Eight water tenders took two hours to extinguish the fire, he said.
Some workers were present in the factory when the fire broke out, but they managed to move out safely, he said.
Another fire incident was reported from a house in Sector 56. Firemen extinguished the blaze within half an hour.
Fire officials extinguished the blaze before it could spread to other jhuggis.
