Jitendra Nath Sikder (54) of Belgharia, Biswajit Maitra (37) of Chakdah and Dipankar Sadhukhan (44) of Naihati were yesterday arrested on the charge of duping a city-based doctor who had complained to the police.
The complainant got a call from someone posing as the manager of a nationalised bank and received his bank account details and OTP saying that otherwise his debit card would be blocked, a senior Kolkata Police officer said.
"A total of Rs 64,990 was siphoned off from the complainant's account and was stashed to various e-wallets," he said.
When produced before a city court, the three were remanded to police custody till September 6.
