Three people, including two children, were injured following a quarrel between two groups in northwest Delhi's Mahindra Park area, police said today.
Two brothers, Subodh and Pramod, were fighting over money to buy liquor yesterday. Subodh wanted Rs 500 to buy liquor but his elder brother refused to give him money.
Following this, a quarrel ensued between them. Some men, who stay in the same lane, tried to pacify the brothers when one person shot at Subodh from his country made pistol causing panic among the people there, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Aslam Khan said.
In the confusion, two children aged 14 and 12, were allegedly hit by pellets in their shoulder. They were admitted to a hospital where there condition is stable, the police added.
The accused was identified as Lokesh (20) who shot at Subodh. He was arrested.
The officer said that they are taking a second opinion from doctors in the case of injuries sustained by the children. The doctors will tell us whether the children were injured due to the pellets or they fell down during the commotion that ensued when Lokesh fired at Subodh.
