3 kg of gold seized at Tiruchi airport

Three kg of gold worth about Rs 80 lakh was seized from a man who arrived at the airport here from Sri Lanka, police said today.
Customs officials found the gold kept concealed in a microwave oven and arrested Rayees, who arrived from Colombo by a Sri Lankan airlines flight last night, they said.
The value of the seized gold was estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh, police said.
