The accident occurred near Rahnoli Crossing around 4.20 AM when the autorickshaw, which was on its way to Kalyan from Bhiwandi, was hit by a truck coming to Thane from Nashik, Kongaon's Assistant Police Inspector C N Marke said.
The deceased were identified as Sadiq Shaikh Abdul Rashid Shaikh (32), Pintu Chotelal Pal (22) and Ashok N Mistry (20).
The two injured were admitted to a hospital at Bhiwandi, he said.
A search has been launched for the truck driver, who fled the spot. An offence has been registered against him under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 and 304(A) (causing death by negligence) of the IPC, police added.
