3 killed as Army waste material explodes

Three persons were killed and four others injured when waste material exploded in junkyard in Baba Bakala town near Amritsar today.
Parkash Singh (51), Swarn Singh (40) and Ramesh Singh (45) were crushing some hard substance obtained from Army waste material when the blast took occurred in the junkyard killing them on the spot, Additional SHO, Beas police station, Balwinder Singh said.
Their fellow scrap crushers Komal Preet Singh, Bakhtwar Singh, Surat Singh and Balwinder Singh suffered injuries and were rushed to a hospital, he said.
