The labourers were working on the roadside on the Kanpur- Jhansi National Highway when the car coming from Kanpur hit them, circle officer Kalpi Mahendra Kumar said.
Amar Singh (30), Kallu (30) and Shahi Kant (16) died on the spot while Manish (25), who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to the district hospital, he said.
Meanwhile The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a compensation of Rs 25,000 each for the next of kin of the deceased.
